Longevity is rarely about exotic interventions. It is about the handful of ordinary inputs you repeat several thousand times a year.
Most conversations about longevity start in the wrong place. They begin with the newest compound, the newest scan, the newest protocol — and skip the part that actually accumulates: what you do on an ordinary Tuesday.
The inputs with the most leverage are unglamorous. Sleep that is long enough and consistent enough. Enough protein and fiber to support muscle and digestion. Strength work two or three times a week. Aerobic activity you can sustain. A stress load that has somewhere to go.
None of that is exciting, which is exactly why it gets skipped in favour of something more novel. But repetition is the mechanism. A modest habit performed several thousand times beats an optimal habit performed twice.
A useful reframe: instead of asking what could I add, ask what am I doing most days that works against me. Removing one reliable friction point usually outperforms adding three new practices.
Longevity, practically speaking, is the discipline of protecting your ordinary week. Everything else is optional.
